Intermediate Walk:
Part of West Highland Way

At the end of April 2010 a fine gaggle of walkers started the amazing challenge of walking the West Highland Way. With no real concept of what they were about to take on they left Onelife early on the Thursday morning by mini bus to the famous start Milngavie. Day one took us out of the city into Murdoch Country Park and on until conveniently they found our mini bus at the Glengoyne Distillery where we had a stop for early lunch. As the day went on we became aware how good it was to see the mini bus as it meant a stop for 10 mins. Day 1 finished in Balmaha with accommodation in Drymen.
Day 2 took us along the banks of Loch Lomond stopping for a late lunch at the Inversnaid Hotel before coming to the end of the day at Beinglass Farm. That evening we were joined by four more walkers who joined them for the next two days.
Day 3 and after the tough section of the loch life seemed much easier with a walk to Tyndrum for lunch and an afternoon section under the amazing hills finishing the day at The Bridge of Orchy.
Day 4 and we had the rude awakening of climbing up through the forest before dropping down and taking us into the great open Rannoch Moor and lunching at the Kings House Hotel (have you noticed a pattern). The afternoon section was tough with the climb up the devils stair case and for some the even harder drop into Kinlochleven for our last night of the trip. We also said our goodbyes to the weekend walkers who had to return home.

Well done to all who ran the BUPA 10km, we had two members who achieved a personal best which always puts a smile on any runners face. Also well done to the runners who ran for the first time, all of you completed your run quicker than you had expected. Sorry I could not be there.
